Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge
Okavango Delta
The Okavango Delta, known as the river that never finds the sea, lies at the heart of the Kalahari Desert. Here you will find the ultra-luxurious and architecturally stunning, Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge. Situated on a private concession, Sandibe has exclusive traversing rights over 55,600 acres of wildlife land adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve. Lion, cheetah, leopard and African wild dog share the floodplains with large herds of elephant and buffalo. Inspired by the shape of a rare native armadillo, the pangolin, the main lodge’s shingles and curved beams suggest its scales and ribs, as the 11,500 square foot building, open at both sides, both curls into itself and embraces the forest. One side is the restaurant and the other, up a half-flight of stairs, is an extraordinary bar contoured to wrap around into the lounge. Behind the lodge, golden grassed floodplains stretch into the distance, framed by lush palm islands and the spires of giant termite mounds. The beautiful organic architecture of the lodge blends seamlessly with one of Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes. Drawing its inspiration from nature, Sandibe is serene and earthy. Twelve
