Nyarboro Hills, South West Serengeti National Park

Its central, yet private location makes it the perfect hub, from which to see the Great Migration. You have access to one of the world’s most iconic wildlife ecosystems, where space, freedom and the great outdoors meet thrilling adventure. The property is home to the Serengeti’s first ever on-site hide overlooking a watering hole, allowing you to view wildlife without travelling far from base. Accessed through an underground tunnel from the lodge, the hide allows wildlife enthusiast to witness nature at play as animals visit for much needed refreshment. A stunning infinity pool takes full advantage of the panoramic vista, and the Riva Wellness Centre offers a range of treatments, massage and yoga, all inspired by the surrounding environment. The property is slightly larger with seventy four rooms in total split between sixty eight well-appointed savannah rooms and six suites. Built on the historic grounds of a pre-..
existing lodge, Serengeti Explorer honors its predecessor’s environmental legacy by maintaining the original room count.
All rooms have a private balcony offering the famed Serengeti views and configurations cater to couples, friends and families with interconnecting rooms and rooms with wheelchair access.
Beyond this exceptional wildlife viewing opportunity, the property offers you an array of amenities including a 115 foot infinity pool, wellness area, and yoga classes, as well as multiple dining venues from the signature Acacia restaurant to the Boma outdoor restaurant to the intimate Divai Wine Cellar. Additional experiences include guided bush walks and celestial stargazing, all while embracing the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of Tanzania's most iconic national park.
Situated on the path of the Great Migration, during the months of April through June and again in late December to March, you are treated to the spectacular view of a landscape dotted with wildebeest from horizon to horizon. Over two million animals participate in the Great Migration, with some 500,000 zebra moving ahead of and 200,000 Thomson’s gazelle coming behind the main players – one and a half million wildebeest. The herds tend to congregate and calve in the southern part of Serengeti from January to March, before beginning the northern trek into the northern Serengeti plains and the Masai Mara in Kenya before looping back again - this leg of the epic journey occurring between April and December. A dramatic volcanic and verdant landscape, the Serengeti is a permanent home to a plethora of other wildlife which can be viewed year round. One of the few remaining places to view black rhino in its natural habitat, the Serengeti offers the chance to view all of the Big Five. Its abundance of animals has seen the Serengeti as the subject of and location for many wildlife documentaries over the years.
