Chitwa Chitwa
Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve
Chitwa Chitwa lies nestled in a grove of mature woodland trees overlooking the largest lake in the exclusive Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. Chitwa Chitwa is highly acclaimed for its superb game viewing. Enjoy one of the best opportunities to see Africa’s Big Five – buffalo, elephant, rhino, leopard and lion, not only when out on game drives – but also from the main lounge and dining areas which overlook the waterhole where animals regularly congregate at the water’s edge in the mornings and the evenings. On either side of the main lodge, you have the choice of six individually decorated air-conditioned luxury suites, the Charlsy Suite or the strikingly beautiful Chitwa House. The suites are positioned to make the most of the spectacular views. Each has a spacious lounge area with fireplace which leads out onto a private viewing deck with its own plunge pool. The en-suite bathrooms all include a stand-alone bathtub and both an indoor and outdoor shower. The Charlsy Suite is perfect for families or friends travelling together. It comprises two inter-leading en-suite rooms, joined by a relaxing living area. It also has a plunge pool and fabulous viewing deck. Lastly, Chitwa House offers the ultimate private safari….
experience! It has two magnificently appointed en-suite rooms with private decks and outdoor showers as well as a spacious lounge and dining area and a water view deck with a swimming pool. Chitwa House includes your own private safari vehicle with a guide and tracker. Delicious meals are prepared in the privacy of the house and are either served by the dedicated team or by a private chef.
With no boundary fences between the Sabi Sand and Kruger National Park, this reserve benefits from the great diversity of animals found in one of the richest wildlife areas on the African continent, along with the additional benefits experienced on a private game reserve. Your days start and end with game drives led by exceptional guides and Shangaan trackers who know the land intimately. Sabi Sand is famous for its leopard and lion populations as well as consistent Big Five sightings in general. Between game drives you can go on bush walks, visit the nearby local community, unwind in the spa and by the pool or simply relax on the large sunset deck and watch the animals pass by.
Dining experiences are varied depending on the duration of your stay. Lunch and breakfast might be served next to the pool in the thatched lapa overlooking the lake whilst dinners could be enjoyed in the elegant dining room or under the stars in the open-air boma around a roaring fire lit by paraffin lamps. You can enjoy drinks in the lounge bar or perhaps in the underground wine cellar built around the natural granite rock floor.
